COST Action — Open Call for new networks

Annual call for new four-year networks on any topic that advances scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal knowledge in Europe; interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged, and arts, writing and outreach networks have been funded. An Action receives about EUR 150,000 in its first year and on average EUR 180,000 per year afterwards, spent on networking only: meetings, workshops and conferences, training schools and summer schools, short-term scientific missions (research or practice stays of days to months at another member's institution), grants for attending conferences, virtual networking and dissemination. No fees, salaries, research or production costs. A proposal is written by a network of proposers from several COST countries: at least 50 % from Inclusiveness Target Countries and at least 40 % young researchers and innovators (40 or under); each person may join only one proposal per call. Every proposer needs an affiliation, which can be a writers' organisation, a publisher, a non-profit or a school as well as a university. One-step submission via e-COST; up to 80 Actions funded per call. Running Actions can be joined later as a working-group member via cost.eu, and as a Management Committee member through the national COST coordinator.
