Not a grant but a purchase: Arts Council Norway buys around 500 copies of selected translated fiction and non-fiction titles for public libraries (over 1,000 copies for children's and YA titles), and the translator receives a fee set by agreement. Norwegian publishers apply before publication with the translator contract and documentation of rights; quality is assessed by an expert committee. Covers translations into Norwegian from any language. Two rounds a year (June and December); the application form for the December round opens on 2 November.
